She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Margena White and Ernest Bravo; her daughter Deadre Armstrong; her siblings, Olive Bravo Johnson and Cedric James Bravo; her husband Vincent Armstrong; her children, Venice Armstrong-Cesar (Jean Marc), Charlene Armstrong Reid, Camille Armstrong, Alisa Armstrong Simmons (Andrew) and Deance Armstrong (Ava); and her siblings, Claudette Bravo Ho and Burnham Clarke. She was also cherished by fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews, cherished dear and close cousins, and cherished friends.
In early 2020, Joyce and her husband relocated to Richmond, Virginia where they could receive better healthcare during the height of the COVID pandemic and be closer to their oldest daughter, son, and their families.
