We are sad to announce that on October 26, 2024, at the age of 95, Joyce Elizabeth Via of Mechanicsville, Virginia, born in Richmond, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Oscar Via, Jr.; and her brother Carlton Haynes. She is survived by: her children, Gary Via (Donna) and Robin Underdown (Jeff); her grandchildren, Joshua Schwartz (Jen), Jennifer Miller (John), Jamie Underdown and Kasey Hoover (Ben); her great grandchildren, Alexis Schwartz, Emma, Jack Miller, Malachi, Samson Eftekhari, Winnie, Bodie and Jordie Hoover; her cousin Wayne Haynes; her nephew Mike Haynes; her great-nephew Beau; her nieces, Christine Hall and Ellen Weber (Mark); and her caregivers, Kim Grace, Connie Roy, Cheryl Disse, Anita Singh, Sophine Manley and Jean Ellis.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Walnut Grove Baptist Church (7046 Cold Harbor Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
