He is survived by: his significant other Jane Mistr Nelson; his daughters, Betsy Rountree (Stephen) and Nancy Wayland (Sean); his son-in-law David Balthaser; his grandchildren, Rebekah, John (Arisa), Natalie, Samuel, Peter, Elliana, Micah, Hannah and Susanna; and his sister Betsy Nelson Gottwald. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
