He was predeceased by: his wife Ida Mae Bowles Beahr; and his siblings, Barbara Carter, Diane Stanley, Jerry and David Beahr.

He is survived by: his son James L. Beahr (Glinda); his grandchildren, Aprile Watkins and Curtis Beahr (Brandy); his great grandchildren, Mattie, Chaz, Camdyn Watkins, Bella and Decklin Beahr; and his brother Wayne Beahr (Patricia). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compass Christian Church, 8137 Liberty Circle, Mechanicsville, VA 23111 or Hospice of Virginia, 1924 Tappahannock Blvd, Tappahannock, VA 22560.
