With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jimmy Daris Swepston of Mechanicsville, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 8, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Letcher Swepston and Anna Tabor Swepston; and his siblings, Gladys May Lilly and Calvin Swepston. He is survived by: his wife Maxine; his sons, Daris (Teri) and Jeff (Bridgette); and his grandchildren, Amy Swepston Ellis, Travis Lee Swepston (Jennifer), Josh Bartlett (Megan), Trey Snead (Taylor), Cara Long and Carleigh Long. He is also survived by great-grandchildren; and many nephews, cousins, and many close friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Black Creek Baptist Church (6289 McClellan Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to the church.
