He was predeceased by: his parents, Beal K. Halsey and Hazel Eller Halsey; and his brothers, Sammie Halsey and David Halsey. He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Dawn Carr (Doug) of Quinton, VA and J. Andrew Halsey (Julie) of Mechanicsville, VA; his grandsons, Danny Lago (Heather Patterson) of Mechanicsville, VA, Tristan Halsey (Faith) of Henrico, VA. and Aden Halsey of Mechanicsville, VA; his great grandchildren, Scarlett Lago, Trinity Patterson and Winter Kinn; his extended family Brian Hughes; his sisters, Doris Ward (Larry) of Elk Creek, VA, Kaye Spencer (Charlie) of Mouth and Karen Howell of Piney Creek, NC; and his sisters-in-law, Irmgard Halsey of Kansas and Wilma Halsey of Independence, VA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, are several friends.
