He is survived by: his wife Frances Smith Stanley; his sisters-in-law, Josephine Shelton and Barbara Jarrett; and his children, Bellevue Avenue and Richmond. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1712 Bellevue Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23227.
