He was predeceased by: his parents, Nettie Tyree and Herman Tyree; and his siblings, David, Homer, Arthur, Gloria and Georgia.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Katherine; his sons, Ronnie (Beverly) and Craig (Lisa); his stepson Jim Kirby (Tracie); and his grandson Danny (Emily).

The family requests that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hanover County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 40, Hanover, VA 23069.
