He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence C. Bessellieu and Mary Long Bessellieu; his wife Laura Jane Mitchell Bessellieu; and his siblings, Clarence C. Bessellieu, Jr., Melville P. Bessellieu, Robert B. Bessellieu and Barbara H. Williams.
He is survived by: his sister Mary T. Morse of Miami, FL.; his girlfriend Faye C. Sandridge of Richmond, VA; his sons, Gerald E. Bessellieu, Jr. (Ruben) of Las Vegas, NV, Michael W. Bessellieu (Laurie) of Mechanicsville, VA and Jeffery D. Bessellieu (Susan) of Mechanicsville, VA; and his grandchildren, Lori Michelle Watson, Adam M. Bessellieu, Brandon J. Bessellieu, Olivia J. Patterson and Laura P. Bessellieu. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
