It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Lawrence Gomes Jr. of Mechanicsville, Virginia, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Edward Lawrence departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Edward Lawrence. Though Edward Lawrence may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward L. Gomes and Mary Katherine "Kay" Firth Gomes; and his brother Hugh Anthony Gomes. He is survived by: his wife Carma Gillette Gomes; his sons, Edward L. "Trey" Gomes III (Brooke), Christopher W. Gomes (Debbie) and Benjamin P. Gomes (Carrie); and his grandchildren, Virginia and Patrick.
