It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Duncan Betty Garnett (Mechanicsville, Virginia), who passed away on December 10, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband George Wilson Garnett; her daughter Rebecca G.; her son-in-law John H. Watach; her parents, Blanche Duncan and Effie Duncan; her brother Herbert M. Duncan; and her daughter Terri G..

She is survived by: her son-in-law Danny L. Phillips; her granddaughters, Monica W. Burrow (Linwood) and Elizabeth Watach (Jermaine Saunders); her sister Mary D. Warren; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth G. Whipple, Shirley Blair G. Carter (Thomas) and LaRetta J. Duncan; her aunt Glola Patton; her great grandchildren, Jason Burrow (Carrie) and Ryan Burrow (Holly); her great great grandchildren, Lauren Burrow, Chase Burrow, Gage Burrow, Caiden Burrow, Conner Galla and Aiden Galla; and her pet Max.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to the State Fair of Virginia Scholarship Fund or to the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad Station 6.
