It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dana S. Cornett of Mechanicsville, Virginia, who passed away on November 6, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dana S. Cornett to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her grandparents, George E. and Laura Perkins; and her parents, Harry K. Nelson and Jean Marie Nelson. She is survived by: her husband William R. "Russ" Cornett, Jr.; her children, William R. Cornett, III and Angela C. Stubblefield (Greg); her granddaughters, Madelynn Jean, Olivia Jane and Samantha Catherine; and her siblings, Randy Showalter (Dawn), Valerie Whiteside (Bob), Lisa Minor (Billy) and Laura Cook (Randy). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Hanover Animal Shelter, 12471 Taylor Complex Lane, Ashland, VA 23005.
