She was predeceased by: her husband William Dee Ellen; her parents, Bernard William McLaughlin and Inez Barksdale McLaughlin; her sister Yvonne McLaughlin Olphin; her daughter-in-law Diana Smiley Ellen; and her sisters-in-law, Sybil Ellen Ward and Jean Ellen Marshall.
She is survived by: her nephews, Mark S. Olphin, John R. Marshall III, B. Kevin McLaughlin and Walter L. Olphin III; her children, Andrew Dee Ellen (Brooks Stanley), William Matthew Ellen (Deena) and Amy Ellen Elkin (Eric); her brother Billy Bernard McLaughlin (Joyce); her brothers-in-law, Walter Linwood Olphin Jr. and Emmett Lee Ellen Jr. (Judy); her grandchildren, Joanna Ellen Chapin (Colton), Rebecca Ellen Banks (Tyson), Kole David Elkin (Samantha Weaver), Elizabeth Gray Ellen, Hunter Rhea Ellen and Bella Grace Elkin; her great grandchildren, Justin Wayne Brooks Jr. and William Ryder Chapin; and her close friends, Sarah Leigh Hilldrup and Elizabeth Washington.
