He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Currie and Virgie Brigman Billingsley; and his son Christopher Currie. He is survived by: his wife Mary Anne Currie; his children, Avery Jr. (Sue), Mike (Dena) and Cynthia; and his brother Curtis Currie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Henry Volunteer Fire Department, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
