She was predeceased by: her husband Claude F. Atkinson; and her daughter Karen A. Whalen. She is survived by: her sons, William F. Atkinson (Diane) and Robert W. Atkinson; and her son-in-law David Whalen. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsville Christian Center Mission Fund, 8061 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111.
