He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Leon Edward and Elsie Lee Whitley; and his siblings, Charles Whitley and JoAnn Ralston. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Walton Whitley; his sons, John E. Whitley and Chris R. Whitley (Theresa); his granddaughters, Madison and Savannah Whitley; his sister Patricia Croxton (Robert); and his siblings-in-law, Harold Ralston, Mary and Aubrey Owen.
