It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest C. Hicks Sr. (Meadowview, Virginia), who passed away on January 31, 2019, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Samuel Charles Hicks, Jr.; and his siblings, Betty Casey, Brenda Baumgardner and Albert Hicks. He is survived by: his wife Teressa Garland Hicks; his children, Donna Gilliam (Billy) of Chilhowie, VA, Tabitha Brown of Goldsboro, NC, Ernest Hicks, Jr. (Lela) of Bluff City, TN and DeWayne Hicks of Meadowview, VA; his siblings, Barbara Testerman of Emory, VA, Glenda Prater of Meadowview, VA, Mary Taylor of Glade Spring, VA, Debbie Keesee of Goldsboro, NC, Esther Rutherford of Meadowview, VA, Edward Hicks of Emory, VA, Tommy Hicks of Salisbury, NC and Johnny Hicks of Glade Spring, VA; his grandchildren, Nikki Gilliam, Brandi Gilliam, Joshua Ashley, Meadow McCracken, Dustin Hicks, Toby Hicks, Grace Hicks, Heather Malone and Jonathan Malone; and his pet Max. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, friends.
