He was predeceased by: his sister Patricia Fain; his grandparents, John Henry Gilley, Almarine Deal Gilley, Elma R. Gilley and Jessie Herbert Roberts; his stepgrandfather William "Bybo" Gilley; and his pet Hunter.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Knowles Roberts; his stepsons, Brian Knowles (Shannon) of Floyd and David Knowles (Alyssa) of Meadows; his stepgrandchildren, Connor, Caitlyn, Barrett and Harper Knowles; his father William Herbert Roberts, Sr.; his stepmother Linda Spencer Roberts; his mother Annie Sue Gilley Overby; and his half-brother Eric Baliles. He is also survived by niece; a nephew; and several aunts and uncles.
