He was predeceased by: his parents, Mason Phillips and Ivah Mae Quesenberry Phillips; his brother Wakley Freddie Phillips; and his father-in-law James Wesley Young. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Young Phillips; his daughter Christina Phillips Hess (Jim); his stepchildren, Melissa Goins Penn and Joseph Howard Goins; his grandchildren, Emaleigh Phillips Singletary (Daniel) and Johnnie Ian Gilley; his brother Cleston Phillips; his nephews, Jimmy Wakley Phillips and Brian Cleston Phillips; his great-nephew Ethan Castevens; and his mother-in-law Nellie Ruth Young. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
