He was predeceased by: his parent-in-law Hiroshi; his siblings-in-law, Wayne Carroll and Chiyoko Funatsu; and his aunt Margaret Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Makiko "Maki" Tyree; his sisters, Sandra Carroll Vandergrift (Clark), Gwen Kropff (Jim) and Rhonda Fisher (Paul); his niece Angela C. Ergenbright Bias (Rick); and his nephews, Michael Carroll, Christopher Kropff (Daughn) and John Shepherd.
