He was predeceased by: his wife Katheryn Cole; his son John Michael; and his siblings, William, Thomas Joseph, George and Marie.

He is survived by: his sons, Thomas (Marjorie), Brian (Jasmin), Christopher (Tracy) and Stephen (Cristine); and his grandchildren, Suzanne, Gabrielle, Owen, Madeleine, Amelia, Ryan, Abigail, Sean, Kaitlyn, Jack and Luke.
