He is survived by: his wife Karen Gammon Bowen; his children, Michael Whitfield Bowen (Donna) of Richmond and Melissa Bowen "Missy" DeSantis (Chris) of Herndon; his grandchildren, Hayden, Brooklynn Bowen, Camryn and Ryan DeSantis; and his siblings, Phillip David Bowen of McKenney, Angela Melinda Hawks of Carson and Joan Elizabeth Daniel White of Suffolk.
