He was predeceased by: his parents, James Preston Brown and Bertha Thompson Brown; his son Gregory Wayne Thompson, Sr.; his brothers, Jimmy Brown, Reese Brown, Winston McFarland, John Thompson and William Wynn; and his stepmother Gladys Page Brown.
He is survived by: his son Jimmie Thompson (Lana) of Round Rock, Texas; his godchildren, Tiffany Vereen of Texas and Shane Dikes of North Carolina; his siblings, Anthony Brown, John K. Waddell (Sharon) and Deborah Santiago; and his grandchildren, Shonda Clark-Thompson, Monique Thompson, Avery Thompson, Gregory Thompson, Jr., Aisha Coulter, Antwan Thompson and Sharika Thompson. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
