He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin R. Hume, Jr. and Edna Thelma Hume-Johnson; his brother-in-law Michael Banks; his nephew Derrick Banks; and his great-nephew James Edward Hume, II.
He is survived by: his stepfather Thomas A. Johnson; his wife Yvonne B. Hume; his daughter Christina J. Hume; his stepson Kevin Hume; his grandchildren, Alana Coleman, Damariee Hume-Murphy, Aaleyah J. Hume and Marquice "MJ" White, Jr.; his siblings, Jacqueline H. Perry (Deal) and Michael E. Hume; his brothers-in-law, Lewis P. Banks (Barbara Banks), Felix Banks (Valda) and Shawn Banks; and his nieces and nephews, Thomas Allen "Trey" Perry, Kevin Banks, Michaela Banks and LaShanta Johnson.
Viewing was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Petersburg Chapel. A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Third Baptist Church (550 Farmer St, Petersburg, VA 23803).
