It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eva Virgin Moore of McKenney, Virginia, who passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Aubria Moore, Jr.; her son Alphonso Moore; her siblings, Preston Parham, William Parham and Rachel Mason; her grandsons, Dwight Harrison and Victor Moore; and her son-in-law David Jones Sr..
She is survived by: her children, Retired Major Furman Moore (Damita) of Copperas Cove, TX, Gloria Jones of Macon, GA, Audrey Moore Jackson, Maxine Jones (Vandy III), Gladys Moore Shell, Sharon Raigns (Mike), Nadine Starks, Diane Hicks and Adriane Piercy; her grandchildren, Samika, Dironna (GaJuan), Tamara, Lamar, Desmond (Genevieve), Crystal (Ike), Amber (Tom), Valerie, Veronica, David II (Crystal), D'Andra, Herley III (LaKeeii), Rashaunda (Tracy), Vandy IV (Donnita), Quinton, Kamiran and O'Neal (Yoseline); her siblings, Helen Graham, Alice Mason and Stanley Parham (Eva); her brother-in-law Alphonzo Mason; her friends, Dorothy Myrick, Dorothy Shands and Minnie Embry; and her caregivers, Valerie Drumgoole, Sophia Bates, Nautica Jenkins, Sylvia Beale, Starr Gilliam, Linda Sullivan and Practioner Monrelle Parrish of Harmony Cares. She is also survived by 23 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home - Petersburg Chapel (530 S Sycamore St, Petersburg, VA 23803). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. John Baptist Church (12364 St John Church Rd, Stony Creek, VA 23882).
