We are sad to announce that on January 30, 2025, at the age of 77, Dorothy C. Ragsdale of McKenney, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Dorothy leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Dorothy may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her brothers, George Curtis, James Curtis (Arletha) and Herman Curtis (Ruby). She is survived by: her son Sherwood Ragsdale; her grandchildren, DeVonte Ragsdale, JaQuan Ragsdale, Kayla Ragsdale and Kaitlyn Ragsdale; her nieces and nephews, Andre, Shelly Curtis and Georgia Moore; and her friend Evelyn Taylor. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home - Petersburg Chapel (530 S Sycamore St, Petersburg, VA 23803). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Olive Branch Baptist Church (11119 Boydton Plank Rd, Dinwiddie, VA 23841).
