He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Simmons Sr. and Ruth Jackson Simmons; his brothers, Larland Simmons, Joseph Simmons Sr., James Simmons and Kaiser Simmons (Squirrel); his nephews, Dwain Simmons and Joseph Simmons Jr.; his great-nephew DeAndre Simmons; and his brother-in-law Richard Harper.
He is survived by: his siblings, Frenchie Miller of North Dinwiddie, Myra Harper of Chester, Gerald Simmons and Michael Simmons of North Dinwiddie; his sisters-in-law, Melvina Simmons of North Dinwiddie and Renda Simmons of Wilsons, NC.; his close friend Maurice Prosise; and also Natascha Robinson (Michael Robinson) of North Dinwiddie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
