It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Catherine Bland Howard of McKenney, Virginia, who passed away on July 16, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Margie Bland Hayes; her husband John Wesley Howard; her siblings, Joe, Henry Hayes, Cynthia Hayes and Julia H. Flowers; and her great great grandchild Nyourii Olani Powell.
She is survived by: her children, Louis Howard (Barbara) of Chester, Virginia, Saretta Wright of Church Road and Darlene Batts of Petersburg, Virginia.; her grandchildren, Adelious Batts (Trina), Candace DeLuca (Nick), Tiffany Jones (Jamar), Solitia Wilson (Marvin) and Simone Cheeks (Frank); her siblings, Mable Edmonds of Petersburg, Dorothy White of Church Road, Marlene Jackson (Leonard) of North Dinwiddie, Barbara Pearson (Sam) of Church Road, Preston Hayes (Gail) of Chesterfield and Raymond Hayes of Ford; her nephew Darryl Richardson; her niece Cynthia White; her cousins, Shirley Walker, Margaret Gilliam and Evelyn Ferguson; her godsons, Robert Holcomb (Yvonne) and Michael Gholson of Church Road; and also Rev. Freddie Flowers. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
