He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. Hill and Clara King Blair; his wife Janet Sayers Hill; his son James Raymond Hill; his grandson Joseph Hill; and his sisters, Evelyn Stuart and Mildred Blair.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon (Tim Gallimore), Judith (Dickie Arnold), Missy Hill of Wytheville, Bernard, Jr. (Vickie Hill), Earnie (Reba Hill), Mark (Pam Hill) and Keith (Christy Hill); his siblings, Osa Hill, Jimmy Hill of Ivanhoe, Dennis Hill of Ivanhoe and Garland of Ivanhoe; and his sister-in-law Marilin Hill of Ivanhoe. He is also survived by Thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends.
