He is survived by: his children, Ray Ratliff (Melissa) of Asheboro, Steven Ratliff (Priscilla) of Asheboro, Chris Ratliff (Pennie) of Bristol, Tennessee and Brentney Artrip (Blake) of Honaker; his grandchildren, Brooke, Samantha, Ariel, Bethany, Aubree and Parker; his great grandchildren, Emerie, Sienna, Daisy and Kace; his siblings, Ralph Ratliff (Ruth), Linda "Sue" Smith, Bonnie Yates and Christine Ratliff; and his close friend Ruby Osborne. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
