He was predeceased by: his parents, John Garber and Ammie Garber; his wife Mary Kathryn "Kitty" Garber; and his sisters, Mary Frances Robbins, Virginia Wood and Martha Little.
He is survived by: his sons, John H. "Jack" Garber, III (Wendy Swenson), Donald P. "Don" Garber (Lisa) and Charles D. "Chip" Garber (Wendy); his grandchildren, Gwynneth Schell (Peter), Benjamin Garber, Aubree Eastman (Jack), Rebecca Rupnarine (Dominic), Joshua Garber, Daniel Garber, Erin Garber, Tim Swenson, Sacha Forgorston (Eric), Stacey Roussel (Denis), Lacy John (Keston) and Lindsay Frye (Phil); his great grandchildren, Moseley, Wallace, Eleanor, Isabelle, Gregory, Jack, Emma, Grace, Zachary and Lark; and his brother Paul R. Garber.
