He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Stewart and Rachel Stewart; the mother of his children Joyce Harrow Stewart; his aunt Erlise Powell; and his son-in-law Anthony Evans.

He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Evans, Chris Stewart, Pam Taylor (Gerald) and Lisa Morris (Chris); his grandchildren, Brandy McKee, Logan Taylor, Olivia Stewart, Nikki Taylor, Nathan Morris and Emma Morris; his great grandchildren, Sophie Taylor and Bella Ann Taylor; his brothers, Bobbie Stewart (Janice) and Richard Lee Stewart (Betsy Ann); his siblings-in-law, Sally Harrow and Ed Harrow (Karen); and his pet Reginald. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mathews Fire and Rescue Squad or Gloucester Mathews Humane Society.
