We are sad to announce that on December 13, 2024, at the age of 91, James O. Stewart Jr. of Mathews, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sr. Stewart and Mary Diggs Stewart of Onemo; and his sister Linda Ripley. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Kevin Stewart (Susan), Robin Dehoux (Paul) and Kathy Markham (Rob); his grandchildren, Kristin Powell (Jason), Regan Hudgins (Ryan), Rachel Hudgins (Ross), Olivia Daniel (Zach) and Timmy Dehoux; and his great grandchildren, Brantley, Bryson, James "Colby", Hallie, Landyn, Kaiden, Emmalynn, Emmett, Everson "Ty" and Daisy.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Hogg Funeral Home (3098 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Hayes, VA 23072). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In memory of Jimmy, memorial contributions can be made to the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department at P.O. Box 1130, Mathews, VA 23109, or to Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 297, Mathews, VA 23109—services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
