With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley W. Barbour of Martinsville, Virginia, born in Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on October 5, 2021 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Walker Woods and Margaret Waters Woods of Virginia; and her husband William Barbour (Bill). She is survived by: her children, Lauren Brennan (Patrick) of Glade Hill, VA, Mark Barbour (Sarah) of Kingsport, TN, Maria Hicks (Charles) of Grand Prairie, TX and Margaret Brande (Tim) of Reidsville, NC; her grandchildren, Afton Brennan, Joshua Hicks, Samantha S. Maxfield (Aaron), Jared Hicks, Shannon Sherwood, Will Barbour, Owen Barbour and Sam Barbour; her great grandchildren, Maggie and Clare Maxfield; her siblings, Pamela Rice of Abingdon, VA and James W. Woods (Susan) of Crystal River, Florida; her parents-in-law, Rita of Patrick Springs, VA, Leon Murphy of Patrick Springs, VA, Kenneth of Patrick Springs, VA and Judy Barbour of Patrick Springs, VA; her uncle Patrick Woods (Ginny) of Glen Allen, VA.; her close friends, Wally and Shelby Thompson; and her friend Kitty Gleason.
Due to Covid-19 regulations, social distancing and masks will be required.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church building fund.
