With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Dean Prillaman of Martinsville, Virginia, who passed away on September 1, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Rita Dean may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Rita Dean touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie C. Warren and Thelma Stegall Warren; her husband Buren "Buster" S. Prillaman; and her son Gerald "Chummy" Holland Bates, Jr.. She is survived by: her son Jerry Wayne Bates; and her sister Joan Doyle (Gary). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
