He was predeceased by: his father Percy Valentine; and his son Jerome "Jerry" Valentine. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Reid Valentine; his son Percy Valentine, Jr.; his siblings, Deloris Valentine Massey (Ernie), Curtis D. Valentine, William Wayne Valentine, Charles Ray Steed (Darlene) and Lancaster Steed; his aunt Inell S. Patterson; and his godson Darius O. Saunders. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren.
