She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Will Penn and Ida Beatrice Penn; her husband Jessie Willie Slaughter; and her siblings, Beatrice Noami Penn, Clarence Willie Penn and Sammie Busic Penn.
She is survived by: her stepson Douglas Woods of Bassett, VA; her sisters, Mary Lou Hairston of Bassett, VA, Demris Lillian Manns of Bassett, VA and Melva Elizabeth Hairston of Bassett, VA; and her goddaughter Lorisa Fuller of Bassett, VA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
