It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nathaniel Watkins Jr. of Martinsville, Virginia, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Watkins Sr. and Ruth Draper Watkins. He is survived by: his wife Karen Craig Watkins; his sons, Derick Watkins, Karene Craig, Willie Turner Jr. and Nathaniel Watkins III (Cherika); and his siblings, Margaret Milliner (Jim), Catherine Carter, Arnette Burnette, Albert Watkins (Bret), Dwight Watkins (Becky) and Carl Watkins (Renee). He is also survived by six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM and on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Service Chapel (1425 Greensboro Rd, Martinsville, VA 24112). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
