She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Mosley and Tecora Clifton Mosley; her husband Guy Chappell; her son Larry Chappell; and her siblings, Irene Mosley Watkins, Lyle Mosley and Dick Mosley.

She is survived by: her children, Jo Ann Chappell James (Robbie) of Summerfield, NC and David Chappell (Kathryn) of Sarasota, FL; her grandsons, Guy Chappell, William Chappell of Collinsville, VA, Andrew Chappell of Palm Beach, FL and Grant Chappell of Sarasota, FL.; and her sister Lillian Mosley Aikins (Doug) of Danville, VA.. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
