She is survived by: her husband Mike Carter; her children, Michael Carter, II (Ashley) of Martinsville, VA, Chad Harrison of Charlotte, NC and Melissa Messer of Julian, NC; her goddaughter Olivia Dyroff (Nick) of Orlando, FL; her siblings, Curtis Hodges of Greensboro, NC, Carol Sandford (John) of Richmond, VA, Patricia Hankins (Barry) of Axton, VA and Vickie Sue Stone of Martinsville, VA; her brother-in-law Rick Carter (Brenda) of Martinsville, VA.; her grandchildren, Talan, Langston Harrison, Evan, Avery Carter, Autumn Sharpe and Vivian Dyroff; her nephews, Adam Carter (Cheryl) and Brad Carter (Julian); her great-niece Maryn Carter; and her friends, Doris Biga, Becky Farrar, Valery Kyle and Judy Cloud.
