He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezra Lee Hairston, Sr. and Laura Martin Hairston; his son Larry Darnell Hairston, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; his brothers, Ezra Lee Hairston, Jr., Lloyd Herman Hairston and Chauncey Hairston; and his foster brother John D. Martin.
He is survived by: his children, DeAngelo Lamar Geter of Martinsville, VA, Ryan Oneil Hairston (Quetta) of Martinsville, VA, LaKeisha B. Martin of Martinsville, VA and Anthony Maurice Giles of Axton, VA; his sisters, Lucille "Cille" Hairston of Martinsville, VA and Fibbie Hairston of Martinsville, VA; and his close friend Diane Martin of Martinsville, VA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
