She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Rakes and Clemmie Boothe Rakes; her siblings, Frank Rakes, S. M. Rakes, Hazel Shively and Mabel Hutcherson; and her son-in-law Roy Cockram.
She is survived by: her brother Lewis Rakes; her children, Ginger Cockram, Reggie Young (Michelle), Dixie Wood (John) and J. J. Hale; and her grandchildren, Kimberly Young, Crystal Miracle (Nate), Kristin Pruitt (Allen), Emily Hylton (Dustin), Saylor Pruitt, Rachael Hale, Caytlin Young and Brayden Hale. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Orchard Drive Baptist Church (Missions Fund).
