He was predeceased by: his daughter Carmelita; his parents, John Alfred and Lula Hodge Carter; and his siblings, Rubena Rossley, Bessie Mitchell, Juanita Whyte, Ivy Jean Brown, William Harold Carter, John Edward Carter and James Monroe Carter.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Lyric and Lauryn. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
