He was predeceased by: his father Emil B. Rachner; his wife Annie Miles Rachner; his brothers, Bernard and Thomas Rachner; and his siblings-in-law, Billy and June Miles.
He is survived by: his son Tom; his daughter-in-law Linda Rachner of Union Hall; his daughter Patty; his son-in-law Brian Williams of Martinsville; his grandchildren, Miles Rachner of Charlottesville, Collin Rachner (Thea) of Mt Airy and Mary Beth Williams of Lake City, Fla.; his siblings, Anna Mae Deutsch, Margaret McAtee and Richard Rachner; and his brother-in-law Truman Miles (Brenda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Martinsville, the Dan River Basin Association or the Kings Grant Fellowship Fund.
