He was predeceased by: his grandson Emmanual R. Ayres-Gaines. He is survived by: his daughter Melissa Gaines (Erik) of Charlottesville, VA; his grandchildren, ShyQuinthia Ayres of Falls Church, VA, Elijah Gaines of Charlottesville, VA and Dominick Gaines of Charlottesville, VA; his siblings, Georgette Payne of Hurt, VA, William E. Tardy (Wanda) of Gretna, VA, Albert L. Tardy (Evelyn) of Yanceyville, NC, Deroy M. Tardy of Madison Heights, VA and Keith L. Tardy of Hurt, VA; and his close friends, Wendy, Phyllis and Martha. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Due to COVID-19, masks and sanitation will be required during the memorial service.
