We are sad to announce that on January 8, 2024, at the age of 82, Gerald Lee Byrd of Martinsville, Virginia, born in Murfreesboro, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Southgate Byrd and Ruth Byrd; and his son David Andrew Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Kenney Byrd; his daughter Sandra Leigh Weaver (Brian); his grandchildren, Joshua Byrd (Molli), Donna Rae Hines, Daniel Greer, Olivia Byrd and Hannah Byrd; his great grandchildren, Amelia Hundley, Willow Hines, Rylun Hines, Lilly Hines, Jameson Greer, Aela Hines and Hattie Byrd; and his siblings, Donnie Byrd (Anita) and Lou Ann Fulks (Bryan). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
