He was predeceased by: his father George Penn; his wife Nannie May Martin Penn; his sons, George Penn, Jr. and Rodger Lewis Penn; and his siblings, James Penn, Joseph Penn and Harriett Waller.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Ann Martin (James), Ronnie Penn (Vanessa) and Stanley Penn; his brother Thomas Penn; and his grandchildren, Lawanda Martin (Deon), Bradley Penn (Veronica), Glenda Penn, Tracy Keen, Ronald Penn, Heather Penn, Laneice Venable, Christopher Huff, Bradley Woods and Timothy Gray (Ivy). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
