He was predeceased by: his father Posey Lester Hagwood. He is survived by: his mother Mattie Elizabeth Penn Hagwood; his children, Dena Reynolds (Tywane), Shavanna Johnson (Kevin), George Penn, Richard Hagwood and Darrell Hylton (April); and his siblings, Mary Penn (David), Nannie Hylton (Lawrence), Wanda Welch, Betty Hagwood, Shirley Dodson, Joseph Hagwood, Sammy Hagwood (Gloria), Moses Hagwood (Wanda) and Thomas Hagwood (Ivy). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren.
