It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Genny Marie Matherly (Martinsville, Virginia), born in Franklin, Virginia, who passed away on February 3, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Samuel Walker and Mary Helen Williams Walker; her husband Carroll "Blue" Matherly; her son Nicky Matherly; her grandson Walker Shank; and her siblings, Melvin, Glen, Ira, Kermit Walker, Sandra Walker and Roslyn Matherly.
She is survived by: her daughter Sandra Shank (Ralph); her grandson Taylor Shank; and her siblings, Judy Gardner, Betty Kirk (Gerald) and Clifton Walker (Peggy).
