She was predeceased by: her daughter Sue Akers; her siblings, Kitty Dickerson, JoAnn Byerly and Harley Smithson; and her grandsons, Jacob Akers, III and Sammy Cannaday.
She is survived by: her husband Jacob McCoy Akers, Sr.; her children, Vera Palmer and Junior Akers (Donna); her grandsons, Erik Palmer and Dustin Akers; and her great grandchildren, Jensen Palmer and Asher Akers.
